10 Comfort Food Recipes That Are Perfect for Meal Prep
Chilli & Biscuits
I made this exact recipe this last weekend, and I can confidently tell you it was a hit. Chilli is kind of the ultimate comfort food, and I always insist on having some type of carb to go with my meal (not sorry). Both the soup & the biscuits are really easy, and can be made in larger batches and frozen for later. (Tip: freeze the biscuits uncooked, so you can just throw them in and have them hot and ready when you are!)
Lasagna
Okay, I have never made lasagna from scratch, and to be honest, I don’t plan on it anytime soon. Ultimate tip would be to hit Costco — they sell frozen lasagnas at an extremely reasonable cost. They’re super easy to toss in, cook, and have dinner for the week!
Chicken Pot Pie
Another Costco hack! I LOVE Chicken Pot Pie, but it’s a lot of work for one pie to start from scratch.
Slow Cooker Tacos
Tacos are always a good idea, and these yummy slow cooker tacos will make your life a million times easier. If you don’t have a slow cooker, GET ONE. I’m not kidding when I tell you it will give you hours back into your life. My instant pot is my favourite kitchen appliance, and gets very frequent use.

Pizza Casserole
I’ll be honest, I kind of hate how much I love pizza casserole. Something about the idea of it just freaks me out, but it’s so good, how can I complain?!
Butter Chicken
Another classic. Make your own sauce, or buy the Costco jars (can you tell I like Costco?), either works! I like to batch make the chicken and sauce and then make rice just before I’m about to eat it.
Chicken & Gnocchi Soup
This is my Olive Garden go-to, but I’m on a budget, so I needed to find a way to make it from home! If you know any good breadstick recipes to go with it, hit me up.
Cornbread
Cornbread will instantly make any soup better. Hearty, yummy, and sentimental to many, cornbread embodies so many comfort food qualities.

Quesadillas
I’m gonna assume you don’t need a recipe for this one, but quesadillas are always a good idea. They’re usually my “I-need-to-go-grocery-shopping” fallback option.
Turkey & Gravy
Thanksgiving may be over for some, but for the rest of us, make more turkey and gravy than you need this year! Save the extra, freeze it, and bust that baby out when you’re feeling in need of some cozy comfort food.
Comfort food, especially when it can be meal prepped, is a wonderful part of this season. These simple and delicious recipes will warm you from head to toe, and can be served alone or to company!
Happy cooking!
